How stock average price works
The calculator uses a weighted average. Each purchase is weighted by the number of shares bought at that price.
Average Buy Price = Total Purchase Value ÷ Total Number of Shares
Example: 100 shares at ₹120 and 50 shares at ₹90 gives a total investment of ₹16,500 for 150 shares, so the average buy price is ₹110.
